Thank you for your interest in Electromagnetic Hypersensitivity (EHS), an environmental syndrome relating to the new technological environment in which we live. We are people living in Sutton Coldfield, England, who have become sensitised to electromagnetic fields and electromagnetic radiation. Certain frequencies can trigger many very unpleasant physiological reactions and our EHS is linked with long-term serious ill-health. Sutton Coldfield ElectroSensitives are all people for whom this syndrome has significantly disrupted our lives. We find certain environments intolerable and some of us are now no longer able to work. Though the initial symptoms may be mild, and not easy to recognise, continued exposures to particular frequencies have a cumulative effect and may lead to increasing sensitivities and long term disablity. Please note that in Sweden the syndrome is fully recognised as a functional impairment, and provision is being made to provide home and working environments with complete accessibilty where necessary for the 3.1% of their population who are Electrically Hypersensitive. Here in England, the Health Protection Agency produced a report in November 2005 about the growing numbers of people worldwide who have developed EHS. We have contact with professionals who work in this field, and offer here some professional information and links to further research. |
